The Aviator
It's been a while, but I got some time to work in a quick sketch for the Cup O' Doodle blog.. I included the original scribble underneath to show the inspiration.

Chilly Autumn
A little warmup I did this morning, messing around with brushes and a short time restraint! Always tryin' to get faster.

The Admiral
The freelance craziness seems to be winding down temporarily, so I'm going to attempt to make up for my lack of posts as of recent. Here's a quick an' dirty character I did for the Cup O' Doodle blog.. More to come soon!

A King's Birthday
Ah, another birthday for my dad.. Another reason to give him a random hand illustrated card. It's always fun to do these sketches for him because he encourages the random and irreverent!

iam8bit "Everybody's A Somebody" Gallery Opening!
Wow!! What a wonderful turnout for the iam8bit "Mr. Men/ Little Miss" show tonight!! It was seriously amazing how they completely renovated and transformed the gallery. However, none of that mattered more than the fact that I got to see so many friends and family coming through to show their support. I am beyond humbled and thank you all so much. You mean the world to me!! Anyway, I thought since the show has officially ended, I would go ahead and post my submission:
Name: A Little Lineup
Size: 14" x 31" (w/o frame)
Medium: Pencil/Digital
I decided to go a bit of a different route and do a more realistic interpretation of some of the colorful characters from the series using their color schemes and props to give them their individual flair. Enjoy!
Go and visit the gallery over at 2147 W. Sunset, it should be staying open 'til the first week of Sept. Enjoy!

Girl at the bar
I apologize for the lack of posting as of late. The good news is, I have been neck deep illustrating what is to be my first published children's book. Although I can't reveal anything from it yet, just know that things are cooking in the kitchen.
I did, however, take a little trip up north and found a little time to do some light sketching. Here's a sketch of a girl at a bar I did in San Francisco.

Waiting for Fishes
Like so many of my talented colleagues out there, one of my main goals as of late is attempting to compile and organize my collected illustrations over the past few years into a volume of sorts to be printed into a book. I did a mockup of a tentative cover page based off an old idea I had long ago. The title seemed appropriate too, because so much of being an artist is casting your line out and seeing what bites. Anyway, I'd love to know what you all think and to see if this collection would be something you may be willing to purchase.

First Sight
A little sketch up I got going for a personal side illustration.. The lady and her dog was an afterthought, but I'm thinking about keepin' em in.

Spaceship Sketches!
I decided to welcome myself back, after an unintentionally long hiatus of posting, with some spaceship sketches cause I do love spaceships.

Hammer Head
A late night scribble from the ol' sketchbook.. I was trying to get some inspiration from everyday objects earlier and decided to use a hammer for the shape of this guys head.

Children's Poetry Book
I believe I just bagged an illustration gig working with a children's book publishing company, who asked me to illustrate a poetry book for kids. A slightly different direction, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity..
Still not as cool as Shel Silverstein though..
